Sunwell Part 1 & 2

Part 2

We did complete this run in one night, I just divided it into 2 videos so I would not have to rush through the content on you guys. I will be working on this write up tommorow, so please check back then for a write up on part 1 & 2.
Part 1

Thursday, November 5, 2009

General Vezax was a fun fight, and much harder for the ranged DPS & healers with mana. Tanking was a simple job making sure to Divine Protection when he casts Surge of Darkness. A priest or another paladin can pull a tank through the alternating Surges, when Divine Protection is down.

General dropped this fight for us:

Scepter of Lost Souls

Lotrafen, Spear of the Dammed

Libram of the Sacred Sheild

Yogg and Guild Update

To start off I was searching for the Devouring Maggot to finish the achievement Pest Control. I has also finished the To all the Squirrels I've Loved before and To all the Squirrels who shared my Life. The hardest critter to find was the Parrot in Ungoro.

Yogg dropped Royal Seal of King Llane, Faceguard of the Eyeless Horror, and Chestguard of the Wayward Vanquisher

We achieved after the Stokin the Furnace on Ignis and I choose you Steelbreaker, which opens up the quest to Algalon.

Iron Council dropped the Archivum Data Disc, Perlious Bite, Leggings of Swift Reflexes, and the Belt of the Iron Servant.

To see a full list of my achievements click here.

Here are the pictures I talked about in my video. click on them to expand, then right click on the picture you like and set it to your desktop. There is a new poll at the bottom of this page. Until next time...

So Brewfest is over and you were lucky enough to receive the remote... now what?

The quest I started through Mistress Nagmara, was the Love Potion. There is a flight path in Ungoro crater, it is to the furthest north. For some reason I had not picked it up while I was there ages ago. If you do not complete this quest, you can buy ale from the vendor to get Private Rocknott drunk, then the bouncer will through him out. You will have to kill the bouncer to pass. This method takes a bit loner, and by doing the quest described in the video allows me to quickly run people through efficiently.

See my old Hollows end videos here.

Brains, Brains, Brains

Hey guys...

This was a fun video to make, took a look through miscellaneous footage that I have captured and mixed it together for you.

So in the Respect Your Elders achievement, we pull the boss back and tank the other adds away form the boss. This way AOE will not effect the adds and we can focus a healer on each tank. Upon looking more closely at the group we had 1 Resto Shammy (well that is his main spec, he was DPS'ing in this fight), 1 Resto Druid healing both, 1 Shadow priest, Myself and Moranda was in Tank spec for this fight.

The achievement where we rounded up all the zombies in was Zombiefest, which is to kill 100 Zombies in one minute.

Remember to vote on the poll below.

Till next time guys..

Koralon dropped Furious Gladiator's Scaled Gauntlets and Malfurion's Handguards of Conquest.

I upgraded my chest piece from Conqueror's Aegis Breastplate to Turalyon's Breastplate of Triumph.

Make sure to vote on the new poll below.

Island of Hobbs

The 1st achievement, which is obtainable by both Horde and alliance was The Fishing Diplomat. The other achievement, that I could of obtained here was Old Crafty, Which I did fish there for 45 minutes & no success.

Too save you some time from looking up my character on wowarmory. On July 30th 2008, I received the achievements Heroic: Nuked from Orbit & Heroic: Orbital Devistation.

I do have to head out IRL right now, so please check back later as I have more links to add to this post for you.

Faction Champions

Now the main reason why we wiped so many times, is one person had heard they had no agro table. Now you can't tank them and hold agro as long as a regular boss, but you can constantly pull agro for short periods of time, hence relieving the non tanks from additional damage.

We had only used one tank for this fight, our death knight went DPS spec.

Crowd control was essential, as re watching this video you'll see many crowd controlled.

The items dropped from this encounter were:

Talisman of Volatile Power

Faceplate of the Silver Champion

Emblem of Triumph X 3! Now that there are 3 bosses, this week 9 in 10 man, 9 in 25 man, plus 2 per daily heroic = 32 per week

Also remember if you are newly geared, go do heroics, Naxx, Uldaur anything that will get you Emblem of Conquest.

Now off XT-002 we received and Seal of Ulduar, Power Enhancing Loop and Conductive Cord.

There is a brand new poll below, please only vote once as I'd like to see a definite view on how much gold I've contributed with the use of these videos & blog.

Thank you sincerely for watching, until next time!

Visual Art

I called this visual art cause I really liked watching the motion of the numbers of mobs pathing. It's like when you drive a car vs being a passenger, you see more as a passenger. I've pointed out in this video what I had not seen while playing.

Return to Deadmines

This video was after many attempts. If you would like, I will make a short clip of the other attempts soon. I still feel that there could be an even bigger pull in deadmines. Stay tooned for future updates here.

Thank you for watching, till next time!

AQ40

This was a really fun run, for the reason that I had not seen the end of this instance (coming in part 2). There are a few old raids that I have not completely experienced and I am hoping to run as a guild through them, then share our experiences with you.

My apologies on the frequency of videos, but I have increased my production of them. I just don't want to have them too frequent that they get watered down. My new philosophy is I'll release them when they are ready.

Gear that dropped this video:

Hand of Edward the Odd , which I talk about in my 1st Deadmines video. I do self loot this, whenever we run as a guild all items that people do not wear go to the AH to be sold for our free repairs.

The Prophet Skeram : Amulet of Foul Warding, Beetle Scaled Wristguards

Vem : Boots of the Fallen Hero, Robes of the Triumvirate

Battleguard Sartura : Leggings of the Festering Swarm, Robes of the Battleguard

Thank you all for watching, till next time!

Ignis & Razorscale

These 2 bosses are definitely fun and if you are a guild whom cannot progress until the end... then keep farming these and Naxxramas until you have the strength to down further bosses.

I had recorded these 2 videos very late at night.. then released them the next day. I may have sounded tired.

Loot dropped off Ignis in this video:

Girdle of Embers
Charred Saronite Greaves
Flamewrought Cinch

Rifle of the Platinum Guard
Pauldrons of Tempered Will

Razorscale

Loot dropped in this video:

Veranus' Bane
Saronite Mesh Leggards
Bracers of the Broodmother

Thanks, till next time guys.

There is still a poll with a few days left, at the bottom of this page.

Hodir

During this fight the tank has to always move when he see's the debuff Biting Cold. Most of the fight I explain in the video, but I did forget to mention that if you see one of your party members with electricity on them, stand near them for a DPS boost.

In this video Hodir Dropped:

Leggings of the Wayward Vanquisher

Avalanche

I switch the following 4 items for my frost resist set:

Barricade of Eternity

Mark of the Unyielding

Icebane Chestguard

Icebane Treads

We find only the tank needs frost resist and there should be a frost aura up from one of the paladins.

Kologarn was one of our walls for a while in 25 man. Yet, once we broke through it has become quite easy. In my videos I perfer to show some of the struggle, as many videos out there show when things are polished after dozens of tries. The nice thing with any boss is they do get easier the more familiar you are with them.

Some have made comment on why I am posting raids videos. Well it answers a lot of future questions. Like where did you get that gear? Well If I show you where I got it as I progress, then when I do a true Hobbs Way of pulling video, you'll know the journey I took to get to that moment.

Here are the items that dropped in Kologarn's chest.

Pendant of the Piercing Glare

Shawl of the Shattered Giant

Mark of the Unyielding

Spark of Hope

Giant's Bane

Idol of the Crying Wind

Handwraps of Plentiful Recovery

Till next time guys...

Thunder Bluff & 2 Drakes

I looked up my achievement "Bleeding Bloodhoof", and I actually received it on March 3rd, 2009. I still haven't done all 4 Horde bosses, as when I have that many people together, we'd usually be raiding. Plus most of the guild has already done "For the Alliance", in pugs.

So when Ulduar 1st came out we all took a break from Naxx for a few weeks. We just didn't want to see it. Now here comes the problem... those who are geared for Ulduar were getting the loot, where we had a number of level 80's who needed to upgrade. So once we started heading back and doing OS with two drakes, the Eye of Eternity and Vault, our guild strengthened quite a bit. If you have walls in Ulduar, revisiting old content is great due to the massive numbers of drops you can get in a short period of time. You can use this philosophy in any raiding scenario. For instance way back in The Burning Crusade, once you moved on from Karazhan to ZA and SSC. Continue to run Karazhan, as not all your core raiders will have 100% of the loot from there. Plus the new gear from the higher instances will help you speed run through Karazhan.

Lots of loot dropped off of Sartharion, with 2 Drakes up. We recieved the achievement this wednesday June 4th, "Heroic: Twilight Duo".

The loot he dropped was:

Dragon Hide Bag

Satchel of Spoils

Gauntlets of the Lost Vanquisher x 2

Dragon Brood Legguards

The Sanctum's Flowing Vestments

Pennant Cloak

Mantle of the Eternal Sentinel which is Bind on Equip

Well this video was truly fun to make, and I wasn't sure if I would be able to get that much footage without being ganked. No items to link today, just a fun video until my next one, enjoy!

Till next time guys.

XT-002 Deconstructor

Well the video I put out 2 days ago I briefly showed the downing of XT-002 Deconstructor, but I then realized that shorter videos are not good if too much information is quickly skipped by. So this one I go more in depth on the boss fight. If I do put shorter videos out, I will try to stick to a single theme so I don't quickly pass by any valuable information.

To see my talent tree that I mention in this video, the link is at the bottom of this page in the last paragraph. Also any addons that I mention, the links are in my FAQ which is also located at the bottom of this page.

Correction:The Achievement shown when 1st downing XT was Heroic: Nerf Gravity Bombs, and not Heroic: Nerf Engineering.

Items dropped this boss were: Signet of the Earthshaker, Mantle of Wavering Calm, Boots of Hasty Revival, Clockwork Legplates, Thunderfall Totem, and the Sandals of Rash Temperament.

We always sell the Runed Orbs right now, as it helps grow our free repairs.

I am presently wearing the Shoulderplates of the Deconstructor, as shown in the video. Tullius our mage won Quartz Crystal Wand, which the graphics of this wand rock.

In the final scene we 8 manned Sartharion in The Obsidian Sanctum, for the achievement Less Is More. Sartharion dropped Gloves of the Lost Conqueror, Signet of the Accord, and Satchel of Spoils.

Till next time guys.

Anzu and Misc Moments

This is my attempt on bringing out more videos. I will try to be a little less of a perfectionist and just bring stuff out quicker. The reason I want to do this , is there are always things over the last 2 years on which I've wanted to share with my viewers, but forgetting by the time I came out to making the video. Well now that I've put out that commitment... see you guys in 2 days. I also am realizing that since this is a series, & don't have to cramp everything into 1 video. I will still however have the traditional refined themed videos out from time to time.

Now the loot we want from Anzu the Raven God is the Reins of the Raven Lord which is yet another mount for one of our collections. I think I called Anzu the Talon Lord by accident because the last item I saw recently drop from him was the Talon of Anzu.

XT-002 Deconstructor dropped Shoulderplates of the Deconstructor which I am now wearing!

Icecrown Farming Part 2

So in Part one, I had aprox 175 Gold for the 1st hour.

Part 2 I show a glimpse of the 2 hours, plus the auction house.

Hour 2 was (11344-11258 gold coin pickup) -26 repair + 118 gold in greys = 204 per hour not including auctions.

Hour 3 was (11196-11073 gold in coin pickup) - 17gold repair + 68 gold in greys = 174 gold per hour.

And the aprox amount of auctions were 2100g, plus the above = 2653gold for the 3 hours

Which is aprox 884.33333333 gold per hour. I think I said 883.33333 in the vid (I was off by 1 gold)

SO I did get 2 Book of Glyph Mastery, which sold for 250 a piece. I just check my servers auctions & they are going for 150 now. They used to go for much more.

Not shown in this video I have seen Avool's Sword of Jin drop a month ago in this location. I sold that sword for 2700g (that really helped my gold per hour that day).

The few videos that tried out my method with other characters are:

1) Gold Making Hunter Style! (Hobbs Method) - World of Warcraft Hunter made by TribunalXHunter

2) Gold in Icecrown by ShadowAshley

Icecrown Farming Part 1

Sorry for the lateness of videos, I have been sick lately. I am better now though. The gold potential will not be so apparent until part 2 of this video. To reach this spot without cold weather flying (I actually went at level 76 not 77), head up the avalanche in Sholazar Basin.

Each server has different prices on their auction house, check the price for Frostweave cloth, Greater Cosmic Essence & Infinite Dust. I sell the Infinite Dust 1 at a time. I have been using the mod lately called auctionator.

The mod for mass selling Grey items is called Autoprofit.

I have a new poll at the bottom of this page, make sure to vote while you are here.

Miscelanous Moments with Hobbs

These clips I have acquired over the last few weeks, but they are too short to be a video by them selves and really don;t fit into my other power leveling and gold making videos. So what I've made today is a short mixed video. I hope you enjoy.

The Horseman's Blade is what I used to summon the pumpkins.

Jan'alai dropped Footpads of Madness, and the chest afterwards dropped Signet of the Last Defender (which was a ring I had on coming into this expansion)

I did find the sucessful footage of XT-002 Deconstructor, I will post it in my next video for you all to see.

The boss we wiped on (our 1st attempt), his name is Kologarn.

Flame Leviathan in heroic mode dropped Embrace of the Leviathan, Steamcaller's Totem, and Gloves of the Fiery Behemoth.

There is a new poll at the bottom of this blog. Also see my FAQ at the bottom of this page for frequently asked questions.

Ulduar & 3.1

It's finally here! I'm having so much fun exploring new content. It's like a puzzle that needs to be solved. Even the trash after Flame Leviathan is challenging.

The poll I talk about can be voted on at the bottom of this page.

I have talked about people coming to my servers before, and feel I have to say it again. I do not want to hurt peoples feelings, but please remember I am only one person and cannot talk to hundreds at once (except by using this blog and my videos).

I wanted to say more on the video, but it was getting quite long. I will have a new one out shortly. I will up date you guys on our guilds progress in 25 man. We are planning to do the new boss in Vault as well.

Thank you all for your dedication and please leave a message here or on my YouTube page.

Albino Drake

There are a number of achievements shown in this video. Our guild defeated 25 man Malygos. I received the "got my mind on my money" for 10,000 gold. The achievement for exalted with the Wrymrest Accord, helped me finish off my Leading the Calvary, to obtain the Albino Drake.

Here is the list of my mounts and the associated cost:

Reins of the Armored Brown Bear cost me 637 gold with my discount because of Kirin Torr reputation. I also earned another achievement for the purchase of this mount.

Reins of the Traveler's Tundra Mammoth cost me 17,000 gold also with my discount because of Kirin Torr reputation. I also earned another achievement for the purchase of this mount.

The Black War Mammoth cost me only 300 stone keeper shards, and recieved yet another achievement!

The Cenarion War Hippogryph cost 1600 gold and earned another achievement.

Reins of the Red Drake cost me 1600 gold with exalted reputation with the Wrymrest Accord.

The Deathcharger was free, and I was luck to receive it after only 25 runs since patch 3.0. On that patch they increased the drop rate to 1%, where it used to be 0.1% It also grants you an achievement.

The Charger used to have a quest chain, but now you can purchase of your paladin trainer for only 17g, you do however need to be level 60 and have purchased the Journey Man's Riding Skill for 540g.

The Paladin Warhorse is basically free to any paladin level 30+.

The Bronze Drake was the reward at the end of the timed run in The Culling of Stratholme. To properly ride any epic flyer in Northerend you need both Artisan Riding (5000 gold) and Cold Weather Flying (1000 gold).

I was lucky to receive the Brewfest Ram during last years Brewfest event. I really wanted the Great Brewfest Kodo, but Coren Direbrew only dropped the ram. Possibly I'll receive it this year.

In Magister's Terrace I was luck enough to win the roll on the White Hawk Strider.

I forget the cost of my Turbo Charged Flying Machine, but the present materials to make another now would be approximately 800g. Now this doesn't take into consideration the cost to level up your engineering to 375.

Now for the reputation mounts. Each one I would need approximately 39,000 reputation points from freindly to exaulted. Which would be approximatly 481 stacks of runecloth, times 5 factions equals 2405 stacks. Even if you bought the stacks cheap at an average of 4g each, it would cost 9620 gold worth of runecloth. I hear you may be able to level up your reputation quicker with this new patch. So save your gold.

To buy all the reputation mounts & griphons once exaulted it was aproxmiatly 1500 gold.

The grand total to make this video is 39,394 gold

All of the above achievements can be shown here.

Gold Tips Part 1 & 2

Well part 1 cannot be fully appricated without watching part 2 below.

PART 2

Now that you have watched them both, I hope you enjoyed. This week took a lot of time to make these two videos, with a few late nights. I actually edited part 1 after finishing the filming for it on April 1st at 2am! After finding out what you learnt in part 2, it may be fun to re-watch part 1.

The new add on can be found on my FAQ in this blog, located in the last paragraph of this page. While you are down there, there is a new poll you can vote on as well.

Old and New

Back to Scarlet Monastery! I have went back the last few days, and have really enjoyed the power leveling. I realized how rusty I was from when I used to do it all the time before.

Now for the gear shown in this video.

Gothik the Harvester dropped my Helm of Vital Protection. He also dropped Aged Winter Cloak, Bindings of Yearning, and Life and Death which went to Charliebean.

Patchwerk dropped my new sheild Hero's Sunder, perfect for Recycled Heroes. His other dropps were Belt of the Tortured, Boots of Septic Wounds, Ruthlessness, Crude Discolored Battlegrips, Libram of Tolerance, Surplus Limb (which went to Lockdnloaded), and Fool's Trial.

Loatheb dropped both tier 7 & 7.5 for me.

I now have the title The Champion of The Frozen Wastes. To see all my achievements, see the bottom paragraph of my blog to a link to my armory. BTW I personally am Canadian, so please don't make the joke more than it's meant to be.. a joke.

I have also added a new poll to the bottom of this blog. Please vote.

Close Calls

Well the higher content videos are harder to make I find, but I truly like this one. The funny thing is when I bring out the higher end content, you'll notice more rude comments from people assuring themselves that can do better. There are many achievements and gear shown in this clip. It defiantly was a rewarding process to go through Naxx the way we did, there were many nights where we 20 manned it rather than pugged. In the end I know we are much more prepared for Ulduar.

A few things I would like to talk about that I did not mention in the video. Sorry for turning off my incoming tells, after 2 years of incoming tells, they have become too much and is hindering the game for me. I do appreciate all my viewers, I just can't have everyone come to my server to ask questions, which most of the answers are found in my videos, blog or in the FAQ at the bottom f this page. I then get labeled the rude one, where really I just want to make more vids for you guys and continue to play the game.

Our guild has progress so well. We had our pitfalls, like when we mass invited an entire other guild. Since the guild did not see my Recycled Heroes video, they came in blind to the purpose and rules of the guild. After many kicks and many leaving we finally got the guild under 300 members. We were once at 2000 members. Unfortunately we lost a few along the growth/insanity stage due to the rudeness. So shutting down the guild is a reward system for the people who saw the vision of the guild and now can reap the loot benefits. Remember Ulduar is not our goal, it is a stepping stone to get us closer to Lich King. Too many guilds look short term, and loose and recruit every time a new raid comes out. We are trying to keep our core raiders through the entire process. Now upon saying this, we do want to have Ulduar on farm status quickly, and are hoping that we are more prepared now, compared to coming into this expansion.

I have learnt a lot being a guild leader, in my last guild, I simply was a member. Now I did have a ton of people come into the guild(but most wanted to be carried and power leveled). I've said this before, I don't power level someone the entire way, It's simply a boost to help them get a few levels quick.

Arcatraz

Well this was a quick one I put out so you wouldn't have to wait as long as you have for my videos. The gear update one will be more indepth and I will have a few of them out to get fully caught up.

Arcatraz to get in , one person needs the key. I did do a full video on the key which you can watch here.

In this video Zereketh the Unbound dropped Rubium War-Girdle, Wrath-Scryer Soccothrates dropped Ryngo's Band of Ingenuity, Dalliah the Doomsayer dropped Reflex Blades, and Harbinger Skyriss dropped Lamp of Peaceful Radiance and Hungering Spineripper.

Getting ready for Ulduar

In Magisters' Terrace, the last boss Kael'thas Sunstrider has a chance of dropping the Swift White Hawkstrider. I was fortunate enough to win this on our first run. He can also drop the Phoenix Hatchling which rocks.

In ZA, the Amani Hex sticks drop so frequently (compared to before patch 3.0)

The Slayer of the Lifeless is a sword that I will be keeping for a long time (even if I upgrade it) In my bank I have a lot of old BOE's that I can't bare to part with. If you ever want me to do a feature on my bank items let me know. This sword drops off of Gothik the Harvester, who also dropped Resurgent Phantom Bindings in this video. Now my old sword Infantry Assault Blade came from Heroic Utgard Keep.

Shields are one of the favorite things in the game (probably cause I'm a protection paladin.) I like them not only for their use, but graphically a different shield can change your characters look dramatically. I was happy that the The Skull of Ruin dropped, but I really want the Barricade of Eternity or the Hero's Surrender.

Now the poll I was refering to in this video can be found at the bottom of this page. The poll is now closed.

Punted Like a Gnome in Ramparts

Well finally, after months of gearing and raiding I am starting to get back to the way I like to play. Of course as a guild leader if I was ignoring the raiding demands of the guild that would be selfish and would not allow us to grow once Ulduar comes out. But now that my demand for heroics is lowered I can hop on and have some fun.

I prefer the wondering what I will do when I log on rather than scheduled raids. Although I will continue to raid and show some of the content, that is not the main focus of my videos.

Over the last 2 years I have acquired a vast audience that is interested in different videos, so I try to keep them varied so that everyone can enjoy. Everything from PVE to PVP, with gold, leveling, and time saving tips contained within.

Ramparts was a ton of fun, and I was surprised on the big difference, since I hadn't been in there since level 70. When searching for members to run, by looking to guild or typing /who 58 or /who hellfire, I had found that there were a lot of Deathknights. I tried to limit my groups to 2 Deathknighs maximum. The first power leveling run I made, I had no healing class in my group which was a huge mistake. Well I had figured I could solo it so healing wasn't a concern, but with the additional players in the instance, the agro was all over the map. So a healer helped, while I regained control of the instance.

In this video the BOP items you saw drop were:

Watchkeeper Gargolmar dropped Scale Leggings of the Skirmisher

Omor the Unscarred dropped the Crystalfire Staff

After defeating Nazan the chest contained Kilt of Rolling Thunders, Witching Band, Shifting Sash of Midnight, and the Mok'Nathal Clan Ring,

By being exaulted with the Cenarion Expedition, I was able to purchase the Cenarion War Hippogryph.

The poll I talk about in this video can be found at the bottom to this blog. The poll is now closed.

Farming Mounts

The new spell Sacred Sheild works awsome in any AOE pull, and the new taunt Hand of Reckoning is awesome to have. Hand of Reckoning comes in super useful in raiding, I will talk about one Naxx boss in the future & how this spell has changed the way I play.

Speaking of Naxx, I still have lots of footage, but am kinda worn out of Naxx. It's nice to start getting back to the way I like to play. There are 2 different modes of play. Hopping on when you want and deciding when you want to leave, and then there's scheduled raiding. Although raiding is fun and rewarding, I do find the variety of logging on and wondering what I want to do more my style of play.

Now that I am using the new editing program Sony Vegas 9, It has saved me tons of time, and allowed me to edit like I couldn't before. I used to do all my editing on my laptop, which is not as fast as my desktop. Yet my desktop did not have any great editing program (which I do now). So no more transferring files back and forth. It does take a bit more time to render the final video, but I believe the clarity can bee seen. A new CPU may be in store for me in the future as it will speed up the rendering process (or at least that is my excuse to buy one).

Kel'Thuzad

Sorry about the lateness on Naxx footage. I had so much to sort through, that I thought I'd start at the end and work my way back from there. I did off tank this one, when we went in, my health was a bit lower. Now it is much higher, you can always see my present character information at the bottom of this page in the last paragraph.

Kel dropped: Anarchy - Staff of the Plaguehound - Kel'Thuzad's Reach - Helm of the Lost Vanquisher - Helm of the Lost Protector

In Karazhan, The Crone dropped Legacy and Ribbon of Sacrifice.

Lastly I received the Deathcharger's Reins from Baron Rivendare. Good luck to all who try for it. It took me 25 trys since they increased the odds.

Karazhan Again

This was a blast, you seriously need to try Karazhan at lvl 80. especially if you grinded it out for months trying to get gear there. I had a few people message me "noob" cause I was in Karazhan at such a high level, but the gold made up for it. Hoping you enjoied this one, was fun to make.

Till next time guys. Oh and If you want to know more on Karazhan, check my previos blog posts, I have tons of info on it when I went through it during the Burning Crusade.
